We are looking for an experienced, motivated and results-driven Senior Development Technologist to join our Product Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing innovative products, improving existing formulations and supporting commercial success within a well-established and growing Australian business.

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will provide technical expertise in product and ingredient development while working collaboratively across the business to deliver new products from concept through to commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Develop new product formulations and create samples to support new business opportunities.
- Lead product improvement projects to enhance quality, functionality and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for products and manufacturing processes.
- Support product development from concept through to commercial launch.
- Coordinate and participate in pilot and factory trials.

Technical & Regulatory

- Apply strong knowledge of ingredient functionality and raw material selection.
- Maintain recipes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Cost of Goods (COGs) and recipe management systems.
- Prepare integrated product specifications to support commercialisation.
- Ensure compliance with FSANZ requirements and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Interpret and apply the Australian Food Standards Code.

Project & Stakeholder Management

- Manage multiple NPD projects while meeting agreed timelines.
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate trial records and reporting.




- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Procurement, Sales and Marketing to ensure successful product launches.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external stakeholders.

Technical Support

- Provide technical troubleshooting and practical solutions to manufacturing and product challenges.
- Maintain the Research & Development laboratory, including equipment, inventory and administration.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to members of the Product Development team.
- Maintain a protected, clean and organised work environment.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications

- Degree qualification in Food Science or a related discipline. Must have a strong background in Chemistry.

Experience

- Minimum 7 years' experience in Product Development within FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing product development projects from concept through to implementation.
- Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and food manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with Australian food regulations, including FSANZ.
- Regulatory affairs experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience in consumer foods and/or nutraceutical product development is desirable.
