Manuplex is a leading Australian engineering, fabrication, and construction company delivering innovative solutions across mining, resources, infrastructure, and industrial projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Planner / Workpack Developer to join our team and play a critical role in the successful delivery of engineering, fabrication, and construction projects.
This position will work closely with our Project Managers, Engineering Team, Workshop Supervisors, Estimating/Procurement Team, and Site Operations to develop detailed work packs, construction methodologies, schedules, and execution plans that drive project success.
About the Role
As a Planner / Workpack Developer, you will be responsible for developing and managing project execution documentation from concept through to construction. You will ensure projects are properly planned, sequenced, resourced, and documented to support safe, efficient, and profitable delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop detailed fabrication, assembly, and construction work packs.
Prepare project execution plans, construction methodologies, and work instructions.
Review engineering drawings and specifications to determine scope and execution requirements.
Develop and maintain project schedules and look-ahead plans.
Coordinate procurement, fabrication, logistics,
and site activities.
Define labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor requirements.
Identify project risks, constraints, and opportunities during planning stages.
Assist with project estimating and tender reviews.
Support workshop and site teams with planning and execution information.
Track project progress and update work packs as project requirements evolve.
Liaise with clients, engineers, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
Assist with shutdown planning, modular construction projects, structural steel projects, and site installation works.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience developing work packs, construction plans, or project schedules.
Robust planning, organisational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar (desirable).
Trade, engineering, project management, or construction-related qualifications (preferred).
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
