Location: Sydney, NSW
Contract Duration: ASAP Start - 3 November 2026
Rate: $56 per hour + Super (PAYG)
Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
Work Arrangement: Full-time office-based initially. Following successful onboarding and demonstrated independence (approximately 2-3 months), a hybrid arrangement of 50% office and 50% work-from-home may be available.
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Property Officer - Vehicle, Claims & Compliance (Insurance) to join a high-performing Property Services team.
This role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of property and vehicle insurance claims, delivering quality customer outcomes, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring claims are managed efficiently from assessment through to resolution. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers through often complex insurance matters while maintaining compliance with relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate home, contents, strata and motor vehicle insurance claims from lodgement through to resolution.
- Facilitate property restoration and repair works following insurance events.
- Deliver high-quality customer service while managing complex and sensitive insurance matters.
- Liaise with insurers, assessors, contractors, strata managers and other service providers to ensure timely outcomes.
- Provide guidance and advice regarding insurance claims, disputes and policy matters.
- Monitor claim progress and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review insurance-related inspections, compliance reports and safety documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and manage claims through relevant systems and processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery.
- Provide mentoring, support and guidance to Property Officers on complex cases and customer matters.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience managing complex property and/or vehicle insurance claims.
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, policy interpretation and claims management.
- Experience working with contractors, insurers, assessors and external service providers.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Sound judgement when handling sensitive, complex or high-value claims.
- Experience supporting vulnerable, elderly or diverse customer groups will be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in insurance, property, claims management, loss adjusting or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume portfolio of claims while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret contracts, policies and insurance-related documentation.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and external service providers.
- Willingness to participate in quality assurance activities, including call and email monitoring.
