About the Role
DGE Oceania is seeking a motivated, organised and customer-focused Sales/Parts interpreter to join our Rockhampton team.
This position plays an important role in supporting our customers and coordinating the day-to-day sales and parts operations of the business. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, workshop staff and management to identify suitable turbochargers, fuel injection componentry, prepare quotations, process orders and ensure products are received and dispatched accurately and efficiently.
The successful applicant will be supported to develop a strong understanding of turbochargers, automotive and heavy-duty applications, parts interpretation and DGE Oceania’s internal systems and procedures.
This role would suit someone with experience in automotive spare parts, parts interpreting, sales or customer service who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialised and supportive business.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating with customers by telephone, email and in person.
- Identifying customer requirements and assisting with the correct selection of turbochargers, parts and componentry.
- Interpreting part numbers, vehicle information, engine information and product specifications.
- Preparing accurate customer quotations.
- Following up quotations and customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Processing customer sales orders and maintaining accurate records.
- Receiving, checking and recording incoming customer orders and workshop jobs.
- Coordinating the packing and dispatch of completed orders.
- Arranging freight and preparing the required dispatch documentation.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management.
- Ordering products and componentry from approved suppliers when required.
- Providing customers with clear and accurate updates regarding their orders.
- Maintaining customer, supplier and product information within company systems.
- Supporting management and other team members with general sales and administrative duties.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional sales and customer service area.
Customer Service and Sales
The Sales Operations Officer is expected to provide a positive and skilled experience for every customer.
This includes:
- Listening carefully to customers and asking relevant questions to understand their needs.
- Providing accurate and helpful product information.
- Presenting suitable options without applying unnecessary pressure.
- Building strong and respectful relationships with customers.
- Responding to enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Taking ownership of customer enquiries and following them through to completion.
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional products or services that genuinely benefit the customer.
- Representing DGE Oceania in a professional and supportive manner.
Parts Interpretation
A key component of this position is accurately identifying turbochargers and associated componentry.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Use part numbers, engine details, vehicle information and technical references to identify products.
- Confirm application details before preparing quotations or processing orders.
- Use supplier catalogues, internal systems and other available resources.
- Seek assistance when product information is incomplete or uncertain.
- Maintain accurate records to reduce the risk of incorrect supply.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of DGE Oceania’s products and services.
Training and guidance will be provided as required, particularly in relation to specialised turbocharger products and applications.
Inventory, Receiving and Dispatch
You will assist in ensuring stock and customer orders are managed accurately and efficiently by:
- Receiving and checking incoming deliveries.
- Confirming delivered goods against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Reporting damaged, incorrect or missing items.
- Correctly recording and storing products.
- Monitoring stock availability and assisting with stock counts.
- Ensuring customer orders are packed securely and accurately.
- Preparing freight labels and dispatch paperwork.
- Coordinating with freight providers and tracking deliveries when required.
- Maintaining an organised stock and dispatch area.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is highly regarded:
- Automotive spare parts.
- Parts interpreting.
- Automotive, diesel or mechanical industries.
- Sales or sales support.
- Customer service.
- Inventory management.
- Receiving and dispatch.
- Freight coordination.
- Preparing quotations and processing orders.
An automotive or mechanical background would be advantageous but is not essential where the applicant can demonstrate relevant sales, customer service or parts experience and a strong willingness to learn.
