About the Role
Elements of Byron is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Conference & Events Sales Executive to join our Sales team.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager and working closely with the Conference & Events Manager and Marketing team, this role is responsible for driving conference, incentive, corporate retreat, event and group accommodation revenue across the resort.
This is a proactive sales role focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities, growing existing accounts, and converting enquiries into confirmed business. The successful candidate will build and manage a strong sales pipeline, develop meaningful industry relationships, and actively represent Elements of Byron within key domestic markets.
You will be responsible for managing the entire sales journey, from lead generation and prospecting through to contract execution and post-event relationship management, ensuring revenue targets and conversion objectives are achieved.
Regular travel will be required to attend client meetings, trade shows, sales missions, networking events and industry functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively source, qualify and secure new conference, events,
incentive and group business opportunities.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate, agency, association and event planner accounts.
- Respond to conference and event enquiries in a timely manner, maximising conversion opportunities and revenue outcomes.
- Prepare compelling proposals, quotations, presentations and contracts tailored to client requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, client presentations, resort familiarisations and sales calls.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through active prospecting, networking and relationship development.
- Achieve individual sales targets across conferences, events, accommodation and group segments.
- Identify opportunities to increase market share and drive incremental revenue.
- Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, forecasting and reporting within iVvy and associated sales platforms.
- Monitor enquiry trends, conversion rates and business performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with resort operations teams to ensure a seamless client experience from sale through to event delivery.
- Represent Elements of Byron at trade shows, industry events, client functions and sales missions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market conditions,
competitor activity and emerging industry trends.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in hotel sales, conference and events sales, hospitality sales or business development.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and build long-term client relationships.
- Robust negotiation, presentation and influencing skills.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify revenue opportunities.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Current unrestricted Driver's License.
- Ability and willingness to undertake regular interstate and regional travel.
- Experience within a luxury hotel, resort or tourism environment.
- Experience using iVvy, Delphi or similar CRM, sales or event management systems.
- Existing relationships within the conference, events, corporate or incentive travel sectors.
- Understanding of hotel revenue management principles and commercial sales strategies.
