What You'll Be Doing
- Design & Certify: Lead, design, and certify mechanical designs specifically for residential and commercial projects within NSW.
- Team Leadership: Act as the project team lead, managing multi-disciplinary services and coordinating complex engineering projects.
- Drafting & Modelling: Utilize hands-on competency in AutoCAD as a mechanical drafter and Revit for high-level BIM modelling.
- Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior mechanical engineers and technical staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Attend project meetings (mostly video calls) and actively coordinate designs with architects, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Site Inspections: Attend on-site inspections to ensure compliance, design accuracy, and progress monitoring.
- Compliance & Validation: Review and validate designs, drawings, and technical reports prepared by junior team members while ensuring all work complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian standards.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Registration: Must hold a current NSW Design Practitioner registration (registration with Engineers Australia / NER is highly regarded).
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of post-graduation experience in mechanical engineering design and project delivery, with local Australian experience in the residential and commercial sectors.
