About Our Client
Our client is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering high-quality training services across Queensland's resource sector. With a strong reputation throughout the Bowen Basin, they provide training solutions to major mining operators and contractors, supporting the development of skilled and safety-focused workforces.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Open Cut Training Coordinator, you will oversee all site training activities, ensuring employees and contractors remain compliant, competent, and equipped with the skills required to operate safely and effectively.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring training programs across site
- Leading and supporting onsite Trainer & Assessors to ensure training plans are delivered effectively
- Managing and maintaining Learning Management System (LMS) compliance
- Monitoring training records, competencies, certifications, and refreshers
- Identifying training needs and collaborating with site stakeholders to prioritise requirements
- Reviewing and updating training materials to align with site policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
- Monitoring training effectiveness through reporting, audits, feedback, and performance outcomes
- Providing training and assessments within approved competencies when required
- Preparing and presenting training reports to management and key stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement across training systems, processes, and compliance requirements
What You Will Need
- Demonstrated experience within the mining industry and/or training environment
- Proven experience managing training records, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Solid organisational, planning, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to work autonomously and lead a team effectively
- Current Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 Statement of Attainment
- Current Driver's Licence
- Highly Regarded:
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience managing training departments within mining operations
