SMARTAVAIT TECHNOLOGIES PTY LTD We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our growing workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered trucks and other heavy vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and roadworthy.

Task & responsibilities Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair diesel engines used in trucks, buses, and other heavy vehicles. Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise vehicle reliability and performance. Service, repair, and overhaul mechanical systems including transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, and driveline components.

Identify mechanical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and recommend appropriate repair solutions. Replace or rebuild worn or damaged engine and vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.



Conduct operational testing following repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance requirements.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, and service documentation. Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures. Work collaboratively with workshop personnel to complete repairs efficiently and minimise vehicle downtime.

Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organised, and safe condition. Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and support continuous improvement of maintenance processes. Qualification & experience Relevant qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Diesel/Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent must be completed.

1–3 years of relevant work experience as a Diesel Mechanic. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle mechanical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Commitment to workplace health and safety standards. Registration or licensing may be required.
