About the role:

An opportunity exists for a Fixed-Term, VPS3 IT Support Officer located within Northwest Metro Region, Business Services Division at the Victoria Police Centre. The position is integral to ensuring all Northwest Metro Region ITC requirements are fully functional to meet operational requirements. The role requires an individual who can adapt to changing environments, is experienced with agile practices, and has experience managing competing priorities to deliver timely and fit-for-purpose outcomes. Your duties will include:

- Diagnose and problem solve information technology solutions (hardware and contemporary software) and provide service, guidance, and advice on a range of IT and Audio-Visual Equipment issues to members of North West Metro Region.
- Maintain and develop local IT applications including computerised records and systems, incorporating portable and attractive items, data management, data service tasks and archiving.
- Apply appropriate processes and guidelines for IT and Audio-Visual systems, security, data management, system development and local application development and ensure compliance with same throughout the Region.
- Undertake IT software and hardware inventory maintenance, general data processing and maintenance of office equipment and software.
- Attend to telephone enquiries and providing IT guidance when required.
- Research and Data Collection.
- Undertake duties as directed by the IT Co-ordinator.
- Develop and maintain appropriate record systems to provide advice on hardware trends, replacement and redundancy projection, and budget implications for future IT requirements.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and diagnose IT and audio visual requests with knowledge of a range of PC systems including network and server administration, hardware, and software packages.




- Knowledge and/or experience in data management, data modelling and interpretation methodologies.
- Well developed written, oral and interpersonal skills to successfully assist in the translation of technical information to a range of non-technical managers and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain computer and manual information systems.
- Ability to work successfully and effectively in a team environment and to work with minimal supervision.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements and relevant information:

- One Fixed term part time (0.6 FTE) position available; required Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until 9 July 2027.
- Position is located at Regional Business Service Division, Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or Visa.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
