The Sunny Sports Clubis a large not-for-profit business with over 40,000 members, priding ourselves on delivering a genuine "home away from home". We've grown significantly over the past 12 months - following an exciting renovation, our precinct now features a modern restaurant, cafe, gaming lounge, multiple bars and functions spaces, performance arts centre and rugby club, with even more improvements planned.

As we continue that growth, we are looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our leadership team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Duty Manager, you'll provide visible, hands-on leadership across the entire precinct. You'll be a key on-shift decision maker, resolving customer and staff issues, overseeing cash handling and gaming compliance, and keeping the venue running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Provide visible, on-shift leadership across all operational areas.

Ensure the venue is operationally ready and trading safely, monitoring staffing levels and service flow throughout the shift.

Act as the primary escalation point for staff and customer issues, responding to incidents and disruptions professionally.

Oversee cash handling, tills, floats and gaming transactions, identifying and escalating any discrepancies.

Maintain compliance with gaming, liquor, WHS, AML/CTF and responsible service requirements.

Support and coach staff on shift, including onboarding and development for newer team members.

Complete accurate incident reports,



shift handovers and documentation.

About you

We are looking for a confident, hands-on leader who is comfortable leading our team through busy, high-volume shifts. Ideally you will have:

At least 2 years' management experience in a licensed club, hospitality or gaming environment, including on-shift supervision or acting management.

Robust customer service and conflict management skills.

Sound working knowledge of gaming operations, cash handling and compliance requirements.

Confidence providing clear direction to staff during service.

Strong communication, documentation and handover skills.

The ability to stay calm and make good calls under pressure.

Availability for a rotating roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Management experience in the hospitality/club industry

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG)

Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV)

Liquor Approved Manager Licence

Current First Aid and CPR certificates

Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)

Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
