Job Description

Electronic Engineering Technician position available to join our SQS teams across all states of Australia. The ability to carry out work with minimal supervision, a keen and enthusiastic approach to your work and willingness to work over time will help you ensure success in this role. Main Objective:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs and service of machinery and equipment both in a workshop and field environment.

Ensure company equipment are at all times safe,



and compliant Evaluate performance of equipment Inspecting finished products for compliance with specifications, drawings and regulations.

Testing, repairing and modifying equipment. Ensure that paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain records of scheduled servicing.

Plan and implement engineering, maintenance and project work maximizing both asset and people performance. Liaise with production team to ensure issues with processing equipment operations are resolved promptly. Ensure that correct feed material is loaded into processing machine before processing operation commences as per machine operational procedures.

Conduct daily pre-operational checks as per procedures and assist in the maintenance of the processing machines. Ensure product is produced in accordance with customer and or Surdex Steel procedures and to meet customer requirements. Compile job sheets in the required manner and placing them in the required location.

Remove completed jobs from processing machines and place in relevant location. Loading of vehicles with outward moving stock, where required. Housekeeping – at all times ensuring factory/warehouse is clean and tidy.

Check that any materials handling equipment being used has been checked for daily maintenance.



Carry out other duties as directed by supervisor. Assist in stocktake as required.

Conduct all duties in accordance with procedures as specified in the Business Management System manual to ensure Quality and Accreditation is maintained. All employees are subject to legal obligations regarding their own and their fellow workers Work Health & Safety (WH&S;).

They are to fully co-operate with the company WH&S; Policy and Program, to ensure safety in the workplace is maintained. All employees shall undertake hazard identification as part of their normal duties and report any unsafe conditions or work practices. All employees are responsible for their own safety as well as those around them.

Skills / Knowledge Required

Knowledge of the steel industry and related products. Forklift competency (where applicable). Crane competency (where applicable). Processing equipment competency (where applicable). Knowledge of Work Health and Safety. Understanding of the requirements of ISO9001. Communication skills. Literacy skills.

Salary: Between $79,499 and $82,000 per annum + Super
