ABOUT THE ROLE
New Chapter is expanding our team of dedicated, passionate, and committed Support Workers to provide direct support to participants with complex support needs and children involved in out of home care.
Support Workers will be self-motivated individuals with a strong values-based approach. They will also need to demonstrate a problem-solving approach with the ability to think on their feet under pressure.
Support Workers will report directly to the Team Leaders and/or Program Experience Leaders. They will work closely with other Support Workers and Team Leaders within the team.
Support Workers work with children and adults all over Hobart and greater region including Huonville, New Norfolk, Brighton and everywhere in between and will need to demonstrate the ability to travel.
All positions will be offered as casual with the potential for permanency after probation period is completed.

Passionate about providing high quality supports with a person-centered approach
A real desire to make a difference to the lives of people living with a disability.
A trauma-informed and child-centered approach to support
Ability to provide emergency or short notice supports when required, demonstrating flexibility, reliability and a commitment to meeting participant needs
REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE A MUST;
Flexible and adaptable in approach
Understanding of NDIS and NDIS Quality & Safeguards
Understanding of Child Safeguarding practices
Rights to work in Australia
Current Driver's license
Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or ability to obtain)
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening
Assist Clients with Medications and Recognise Healthy Body Systems
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Experience working with complex care individuals that may display behaviors of concern
Experience working with children and young people engaged with Child Safety Services, including providing trauma informed supports
Must have extensive availability, including sleepovers, community activities, weekend shifts, and other varied supports
Related Qualifications (e.g.: Certificate in Individual Support, Aged Care and/or Home and Community Services, Certificate IV in Youth Work, etc.)
Generalized Epilepsy Training
DECYP Child Safety Training
PEG Credentialling
