Aerotek Australia, part of the Dy-Mark Group, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our Wacol manufacturing site. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining stock availability, and supporting the smooth flow of materials across our warehouses and production operations.
Working closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse and Production teams, you will play a critical role in preventing stock shortages, coordinating inventory movements, and ensuring raw materials, packaging, solvents and gases are available when needed to keep production running efficiently. This role is designed to support operational and production requirements with working hours of 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 1:00pm Friday, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining strong inventory control and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor inventory levels against forecasts to prevent stock shortages and overstocking.
- Create replenishment requisitions and maintain consumable stock levels.
- Coordinate and track stock movements between warehouses, production lines, and dispatch areas.
- Receive stock into the inventory system and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and daily stock transactions.
- Coordinate weekly cycle counts and periodic stock takes.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are followed across all raw materials and packaging.
- Identify and report damaged, expired,
or obsolete stock.
Production Support
- Pre-batch and stage raw materials to support production schedules.
- Ensure the timely supply of materials to production teams to minimise downtime.
- Monitor critical inventory levels and communicate potential shortages.
- Track stock movements across multiple Dy-Mark entities and warehouses.
Material Shortage Management
- Work closely with Purchasing to monitor inbound deliveries and expedite urgent materials.
- Proactively follow up on delayed or outstanding orders.
- Maintain stock shortage reporting and communicate risks to key stakeholders.
- Develop actions to minimise the impact of material shortages on production and customer deliveries.
Solvent & Gas Tank Management
- Monitor inventory levels of bulk solvents, gas tanks and related consumables.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stored, labelled and handled in accordance with relevant regulations and company procedures.
- Coordinate the supply of solvents and gases to production areas.
- Support decanting activities and ensure equipment remains compliant and maintained.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) procedures and work instructions.
- Identify and report hazards,
risks, incidents and non-conformances.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, SOP development and operational reviews.
- Maintain compliance with legislative, company and regulatory requirements relating to inventory and dangerous goods management.
- Promote a strong safety culture where QHSE is everyone's responsibility.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience in Stock Controller, Inventory Controller, Warehouse Inventory or Supply Chain role.
Robust inventory management and stock control experience within a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 25kg
Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to priorities competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Experience working with dangerous goods, solvents or chemicals (highly regarded).
Successful completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
