On behalf of our client, we are looking for a full time experienced Diesel Mechanic. This role will be responsible for diagnostics and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure it is maintained to a fit for purpose standard for safe and reliable operation.
The daily duties and responsibilities include:
- Plan tasks, parts acquisition and execute repairs, maintenance and servicing duties
- Prioritise work in accordance with Maintenance Schedule
- Fault diagnosis and general repairs
- Ensure planned repairs are executed within time and cost requirements/estimates
- Machine maintenance, component replacement and component overhaul
- Carry out pre-start checks on plant and equipment to be operated
- Re-fuelling and inspections
- Basic cutting and welding, auto electrical tasks, hydraulic/ pneumatics and air conditioning diagnostics and repairs as required
- Ensure all items are adequately secured in/on vehicles used for transportation
- Strive for zero damage to plant and equipment
- Follow OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) work instructions and procedures Ensure all components have been drained of oil where applicable to prevent environmental and/or compliance issues and follow appropriate procedure for disposal/dispatch
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist with the development and implementation of agreed solutions
- Adherence to company Policies, Procedures and Management Plans
- Work to the highest quality standard possible
- Assist and support other team members in carrying out duties as required
- Adherence to Site Safety Health Management System and Environmental and/or other statutory management plans as required
- Commitment to fostering safety in the workplace
- Report incidents as soon as possible, as a priority after the incident
- Perform and submit regular Safe Act Observations (SAOs) using site supplied documentation and reporting process
Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Trade Qualification – Diesel Fitting, Plant Mechanic or similar
- Experience with heavy Mining & Earth Moving Equipment
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Planning and Organising skills
Salary
Salary being offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is between $100,000 – 130,000 excluding superannuation.
