The Opportunity

Join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare education by delivering exceptional clinical learning experiences for nursing and midwifery students. Working within the university’s Academic Support Unit, you will provide specialist technical support that brings simulation-based learning to life, preparing and maintaining equipment, resources and realistic clinical environments that enable innovative teaching and student success. Reporting to the Team Leader, Nursing and Midwifery, you will help create safe, engaging and contemporary learning experiences that prepare students for professional healthcare practice.

This position is predominantly based at the Sippy Downs campus; however, flexibility is required, as some workdays may be undertaken at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute (SCHI).

You will

- Deliver technical support for the Nursing and Midwifery programs by preparing,facilitatingand maintaining high-fidelity simulated practical learning experiences.;
- Ensure safe and effective operation of facilities, equipment, and resources through instruction of the use of simulation equipment and clinical learning facilities, compliance with health and safety policies, risk management and routine maintenance; and
- Support workforce capability and collaborationby liaisingandassistingteam members, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

About you

You are a practical, service-focused professional with experience supporting clinical learning, healthcare environments or technical operations. You thrive in hands-on environments, enjoy working collaboratively, and take pride in creating safe, well-prepared learning spaces that enable others to succeed. With strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, you can manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality service outcomes. You bring sound judgement, adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

You will possess:





- Completion of a relevant degree with experience in the provision of a broad range of clinical activities in support of teaching in a health-related disciple. An alternative combination of relevant knowledge, training and experience would be considered, however, experience as a registered nurse is advantageous;
- Demonstrated experience providing practical and technical support in a relevant environment, preferably at tertiary level;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students and to support a positive learning environment;
- Strongorganizational and time management skillswith the ability to manage competing prioritieseffectively;
- Asoundknowledgeofworkplacehealthand safetypractices,including experience in conductinganddocumentingrisk assessmentsand implementingsafeoperating procedures;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a practical environmentwith a demonstrated ability and willingness to learnnew technologies;
- Ability to work both independently and collaborativelywhilemaintainingpositive working relationships; and
- Current driver’s licence.
