Intermediate Accountant role across compliance and tax planning
CBD location | up to 4 days WFH | $75-85k+super
The Company
A well-established boutique public practice firm in Sydney CBD is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join its team-oriented team. The firm works with a diverse SME client base and offers genuine exposure beyond compliance, including tax planning and client advisory.
After an initial settling-in period, the firm offers genuine flexibility with hybrid working arrangements and flexible hours. You'll gain increasing responsibility over your own client portfolio while continuing to develop your technical tax and advisory skills with support from experienced mentors.
The Role
Liaise directly with clients for onboarding and support
Prepare draft financial statements, tax returns and depreciation schedules for review
Prepare draft BAS/IAS for review
Assist with tax planning and compliance
Liaise with the ATO on client matters (ABN/TFN/GST/PAYG applications etc.)
Support with entity setup / registrations and general advisory support
Coding transactions, bank and credit card reconciliations as required
Provide technical support to offshore bookkeeping staff and mentor junior team members
Your Background
You will ideally have:
Minimum 3 years’ public practice (business services) experience
Exposure to tax planning and entity structures (e.g., trusts / trading entities)
Confident, warm communication style and comfort dealing with clients
Stable employment history with a genuine interest in developing your public practice career
CA/CPA (completed or in progress) beneficial (support available)
