Una Kids is seeking a practical, reliable, and child-safe Gardner & Handyperson to support the upkeep of our beautiful centres. This is a part-time role (2days per week) based primarily across our 4 Brisbane centres.

Applicants preferably must have their own tools, reliable transport (preferably a UTE), and a current Blue Card.

About the Role

As our Maintenance & Handyperson, you will help ensure our childcare centres remain protected, functional, and welcoming for children, families, and educators. You’ll carry out repairs and general maintenance, with larger specialised work supported by external licensed contractors.

Your work will directly contribute to the quality, safety, and presentation of our learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine inspections of centre facilities and identify maintenance needs.
- Complete general repairs, including minor plumbing, basic electrical tasks, patching walls, hanging doors, painting, and general upkeep.
- Mowing, edging and garden general tidy.
- Support with playground, outdoor, and educational environment maintenance.




- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with centre leadership and the operations team regarding completed work and upcoming maintenance needs.
- Previous experience in property or facilities maintenance, ideally in childcare, education, or commercial settings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.
- Professional, friendly, and child-safe manner when working in active learning environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise urgent repairs, and work efficiently under pressure.
