Dubbo Terrywhite Chemmart is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Dubbo, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and delivering excellent customer service to our community. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will work alongside our qualified pharmacists to ensure the smooth running of our pharmacy, whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role offers the perfect balance for those seeking flexible working arrangements whilst contributing meaningfully to healthcare delivery in our local area.
What you'll be doing
- Processing transactions and handling payments using the pharmacy point-of-sale system
- Providing friendly and professional customer service to patients, answering general enquiries and directing complex questions to the pharmacist
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with privacy and pharmacy legislation
- Cleaning and sanitising pharmacy areas, equipment and storage facilities to maintain a hygienic environment
- Assisting with the receipt and unpacking of pharmaceutical deliveries
- Supporting the pharmacist with administrative tasks and other duties as required
What we're looking for
- A genuine interest in pharmacy and healthcare with a commitment to patient safety and privacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling medications and processing prescriptions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from qualified pharmacists
- Basic IT skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems
- Reliable and punctual with a willingness to support a busy pharmacy environment
- Relevant qualifications such as a Pharmacy Assistant Certificate or equivalent (desirable but not essential – we are happy to provide training to the right candidate)
- Current knowledge of Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations and pharmacy legislation is advantageous
