About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Coxswain Grade 1 to join our team working on the Hawkesbury River Rail Bridge project at Brooklyn, NSW. This is a hands-on role that combines vessel operations with general labouring and site support duties. The successful candidate will be a team player who is adaptable, reliable, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate workboats and vessels in accordance with maritime regulations and company procedures.
- Tow, manoeuvre, and moor work barges safely and efficiently.
- Transport personnel, equipment, and materials to and from work sites.
- Assist with loading and unloading barges, vessels, and construction materials.
- Perform general labouring duties, including scaffolding support, materials handling, and manual handling tasks.




- Conduct routine vessel inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
- Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS), environmental, and maritime safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew to ensure secure and efficient operations.
- Provide support to marine, scaffolding, and construction teams as required.

To be successful in this role, you are required to have:

- Construction White Card
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Demonstrated experience towing and mooring work barges.
- Experience as a skilled labourer, ideally within marine or construction environments.
- Sound knowledge of scaffolding operations and general site support.
- Strong understanding of maritime safety, emergency procedures, and WHS requirements.
- Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Flexibility to work early starts, weekends, and varying shifts as required.
- A proactive attitude and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.

Desirable Qualifications:

- Current Rigging/Dogging/Scaffolding High Risk Work Licence.
- Previous experience working on marine infrastructure or bridge construction projects.
