What you'll be doing
The Aboriginal Immunisation Health Worker's role is to ensure Aboriginal children are vaccinated on time. This position will access the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) data for Aboriginal child immunisation records, and build good relationships with parents, community, immunisation providers,



and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations to ensure timely vaccination of Aboriginal children.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- This is a position identified for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people on the basis of a genuine occupational qualification under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrmination Act 1977. Applicants will be required to provide confirmation of Aboriginality as part of the recruitment process.
- Holds or is willing to enrol for the Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or a relevant area of health care; or equivalent work experience in health or community services.
- Knowledge and experience of working within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia with ability, willingness and commitment to engage in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities living in Northern Sydney Local Health District.

Experience in a government or community organisation dealing with community or health issues.

This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases. The full list of requirements are outlined in theNSW Health OASV Policy(Page 11).You will be required to complete theOASV Undertaking/ Declaration FormandTB Assessment Toolduringthe recruitment process.
