Financial and Tax Accountant - International Bank (Chinese Speaker)
Required: Australian Permanent resident or citisen
**Successful candidtemust be fluent in bother English and Mandarin
The Financial & Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the Bank's day-to-day financial and taxation activities, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation legislation and internal policies. The key responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including expense review, payment processing, accounting entries, account reconciliations and financial documentation.
Prepare, review and lodge Australian tax returns and reports, including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Corporate Income Tax, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with Australian taxation requirements.
Support the Bank's tax governance framework, tax compliance, tax risk management and internal tax controls, including maintaining tax documentation, assisting with ATO reviews and audits, and monitoring changes in taxation legislation.
Support the development and enhancement of internal financial policies and procedures in accordance with Branch requirements and applicable regulations
Strengthen financial compliance management,
and assist in delivering internal financial and tax-related training to relevant stakeholders.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.
Assist with external and internal audits, finance-related projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Expectations, deliverables and other
A Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
CPA Australia or CA ANZ qualification.
Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting and taxation within the banking or financial services industry.
Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, including GST, BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Corporate Income Tax, with practical experience in tax compliance and reporting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, with solid attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. Experience with data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI or similar) is highly desirable.
Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
