Dantel Communications

Hornsby

Dantel Communications is an Australian-owned telecommunications contractor delivering turnkey fibre networks across data centre, carrier, and major infrastructure projects nationwide. We're ISO and CM3 accredited, with a reputation built on clean workmanship, strong systems, and handovers that pass first time.

Our Sydney operation has grown quickly on the back of data centre and carrier work, and the office side of it has outgrown what we can cover between us. We're looking for a project coordinator to sit alongside our NSW state manager and project manager at our Thornleigh office and take on the coordination and administration that keeps multiple active projects moving.

It's an office-based role in Thornleigh with occasional site visits, supporting delivery across live data centres, construction-phase data centre builds, and carrier network projects.

The Role

You'll become the person who knows the status of every NSW job. Permits, access, materials, documentation, reporting and handover packs all run through you, so when a client asks where something is up to, you already have the answer. This is a coordination and administration role first, and it's the best seat in the business for learning how fibre and data centre projects actually get delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

- Owning the project tracker so nobody has to ask where a job is up to
- Raising and chasing purchase orders, materials orders and delivery dates with suppliers
- Lodging BYDA enquiries, council and road permits, and booking traffic control
- Managing site access requests, inductions and security clearances for data centre and client sites, including client access portals and permit-to-work systems
- Tracking compliance currency across internal techs and subcontractors, including site inductions, ACMA registration and data centre access tickets, so nobody turns up to a site they can't enter

- Preparing and distributing work packs, splicing plans, SWMS and prestart documentation to field crews
- Collecting dockets, timesheets, photos and test results and turning them into complete as-built and handover packs
- Keeping client reporting and portals current, in their format, to their deadlines
- Confirming crews, subcontractors and traffic control for the week ahead
- Keeping the quote register moving and following up outstanding responses
- Taking meeting minutes and then chasing the actions until they're closed
- Making sure claim documentation is complete before it reaches accounts
- Pitching in on general office and project admin as the NSW team grows

What You'll Need

- Genuinely strong on a computer. Excel with formulas, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and quick to pick up new client systems
- Very good written and verbal communication. In one day you'll write to a data centre client's project manager, a council, and a splicer standing in a pit, and you'll get the tone right for all three
- Organised, and disciplined about it. Nothing sits on your desk waiting
- Someone who chases things without being asked twice
- Comfortable juggling deadlines across several active projects at once
- Administration or coordination experience in telecommunications, civil, utilities or construction
- Ability to pass data centre site inductions and security/police checks as required by client sites
- Highly regarded but not essential: data centre project exposure,

experience with client reporting portals, Smartsheet, and a Cert IV in Project Management or similar.

What We Offer

- $85,000 to $95,000 plus super, depending on experience
- When something goes sideways on a project, you'll have management who actually know fibre and know the field, not just spreadsheets. You'll never be left guessing what a crew needs or what a client is really asking for
- Genuine variety, live data centres, construction-phase builds and carrier network projects, so you're not administering the same job over and over
- We back our people to upskill, with real support for Cert IV in Project Management, client systems training, and leadership development for those who want to grow
- Clear progression as the business grows, we promote from within and we're not shy about it. This role is built to lead into project management for the right person
- Well-run, well-planned projects, so you spend your week getting ahead instead of firefighting
- Laptop, phone and everything you need to do the job properly
- Thornleigh office, easy access off the M2, walking distance to Thornleigh station, with in office parking
- A team that takes pride in doing things properly and actually enjoys the work
- Stable, ongoing pipeline across data centre and carrier projects nationwide
- ISO and CM3 accredited contractor working across numerous telco panels

Shortlisted candidates will complete a short practical exercise at interview, building a simple tracker and drafting a client update from a real email thread. It takes about twenty minutes and it's the fairest way we know to see how someone actually works.

At Dantel you're not a number. You'll be part of a team that backs its people, runs good projects, and gives you the room to grow as far as you want to take it.
