Farmer Charlies Lismore is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Fruit/Veg/Grocery Storeperson to join our team in Lismore, NSW. This is a full time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our store operates smoothly and efficiently. As a Storeperson, you will be responsible for fresh produce back of house operations, managing grocery stock, and creating an inviting shopping environment for our customers. This role is essential to our retail operations and directly contributes to delivering an excellent customer experience and maintaining the quality standards Farmer Charlies is known for.
Key responsibilities
- Receiving, unpacking and checking deliveries of fresh produce, vegetables, fruits and grocery items for quality and accuracy
- Rotating stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure product freshness and minimise waste
- Monitoring stock levels and alerting management when stock levels are low.
- Maintaining clean and hygienic storage areas, shelves and display zones in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assisting with the removal and disposal of damaged, expired or unsaleable goods
- Operating relevant store equipment, including scales, labelling machines and refrigeration systems
- Assisting with stock takes and inventory counts as required
- Following all company policies, procedures and health and safety guidelines
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working as a storeperson, stock assistant or in a similar retail setting, preferably with fresh produce or grocery items
- Physical capability to lift and carry heavy items regularly, as well as stand for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to maintain accurate stock management
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards, particularly regarding food handling and storage
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic numeracy skills for stock management and inventory tasks
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures
- Preferred: Forklift ticket but not essential
