Wade Sawmill is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in Maryborough, QLD 4650, this role offers a strategic opportunity to lead and manage our human resources functions whilst maintaining flexibility through part-time working arrangements.

As Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support our organisational goals, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation. This position is integral to Wade Sawmill's success, as you will be instrumental in attracting, developing, and retaining talented team members who drive our business forward.

Key responsibilities

Update, implement and manage human resources policies, procedures and programmes aligned with organisational objectives

Recruit, select and onboard new employees, ensuring a thorough induction process and smooth integration into the organisation

Manage employee relations, including performance management, disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution

Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR matters, employment law and workplace rights and responsibilities

Develop and deliver training and development programmes to support employee growth and skills enhancement

Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, health and safety regulations and workplace standards

Maintain accurate HR records and confidential personnel files

Contribute to the development of a positive workplace culture that reflects Wade Sawmill's values and vision

Liaise with external parties including recruitment agencies, training providers and legal advisors as required

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree qualification in Human Resources, Business Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience





Preferred 3-5 years' experience in a human resources management role within a manufacturing, timber or similar industrial environment

Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, workplace relations legislation and award systems

Demonstrated experience in recruitment, selection and onboarding processes

Proficiency with HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation

Strong organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to provide practical solutions to workplace challenges

Professional approach to confidentiality and data management

Experience with payroll administration and employee benefits management is highly desirable

Membership of professional HR organisations such as AHRI is advantageous
