The Role

Join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Electrician at Tassal's Proserpine site, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our operations.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll work as part of our skilled electrical team to ensure the smooth running of our equipment and systems. This is a dynamic and hands‑on role, perfect for a proactive and technically minded individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

Working a 2/2/3 roster (12-hour shifts), you'll enjoy a excellent work-life balance, including a long weekend every second week. The role also includes on-call provisions to support operational requirements.

You will contribute to maintaining optimal efficiency, safety, and reliability across our site while ensuring compliance with regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and test, repair and maintain electrical equipment, components and systems.
- Work with PLC and SCADA-based systems, network cabling (fibre and copper), variable speed drives, large generators, LV power distribution and instrumentation.
- Interpret electrical schematics to support effective troubleshooting and maintenance.




- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Uphold safety standards and contribute to our Zero Harm culture.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Current Queensland Electrical Licence (mandatory).
- Previous industrial electrical experience.
- Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems (desirable).
- High Voltage experience (preferred but not essential).
- A system-oriented mindset and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- A respectful, empathetic and outcomes-focused approach combined with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to participate in shift cover, weekend work and overtime when required.
- A safe, reliable and proactive attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
- Current driver's licence.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
