Financial Manager – Lead Finance for a Growing Australian Brand
The Financial Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing all financial operations for Solatube Australia and providing oversight to Solatube Home and other associated business. This position combines hands-on accounting with strategic financial management and plays a critical role in supporting the Managing Director.
The Financial Manager will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all financial processes, deliver high-quality reporting, optimise Syspro ERP performance, and provide commercial insights that support strong decision-making. The role also leads one Accounts/Finance Officer and partners closely with operational teams across the organisation.
Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, bank reconcilations, general ledger, BAS, PAYG and super compliance
Manage timely and accurate month-end and year-end processes
Maintain stock control, costing, margin reporting, and inventory accuracy through Syspro
Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and statutory reports
Manage cash flow forecasting and cash requirements
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules

The Financial Manager will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all financial processes, deliver high-quality reporting,
optimise Syspro ERP performance, and provide commercial insights that support robust decision-making. The role also leads one Accounts/Finance Officer and partners closely with operational teams across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Controls
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, bank reconcilations, general ledger, BAS, PAYG and super compliance
- Manage timely and accurate month-end and year-end processes
- Maintain stock control, costing, margin reporting, and inventory accuracy through Syspro
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and statutory reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting and cash requirements
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
Leadership & People Management
- Supervise and support the Accounts/Finance Officer
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance
- Ensure smooth workflow across the finance department and alignment with company policies
Oversight of Other Business Units
- Review financial reporting for other business and ensure consistency with group standards
- Assess and guide bookkeeping accuracy, cash flow reporting, and P&L; performance
- Provide strategic financial insights and periodic performance reviews for an associated business
Systems, Processes & Syspro ERP
- Act as the Syspro finance system lead
- Ensure accuracy of financial, sales, and inventory data
- Identify process gaps and implement system improvements
- Liaise with external Syspro consultants for system updates or reporting enhancements
Reporting, Compliance & Strategic Support
- Prepare monthly management reports and KPI dashboards
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations (ATO, ASIC, Workers Comp, insurance, etc.)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
- Provide commercial insights into pricing, cost control, and capital expenditure
- Assist with modelling, scenario analysis, and business performance monitoring
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- High attention to detail with accuracy under deadlines
- Advanced Syspro ERP and Microsoft Excel skills
- Effective communication with financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small finance team
- Proactive approach with continuous improvement mindset
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CPA/CA qualification preferred but not essential
- 7–10 years’ experience in senior accounting or financial management roles
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or construction highly desirable
Hands-on experience with Syspro or similar ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and confidently in a leadership position
