Randstad Sourceright is proud to be partnering with and working alongside a leading Australian financial services organisation dedicated to providing retirement security and excellence in superannuation management.

Are you a seasoned project leader ready to drive data uplift? We are looking for a Data Governance Project Manager to lead the delivery of our Data Governance Program. This role is perfect for an autonomous self-starter who excels in executing complex governance uplifts, navigating regulatory frameworks like APRA and bringing together cross-functional teams to embed sustainable data practices across the business.

Role: Data Governance Project Manager

Location: Sydney or Canberra -Hybrid

Job Type: Contract until June 27 (potential to extend)

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Program Delivery & Management: Lead and execute the Data Governance program, managing uplift, scope, schedule, budget, reporting and cross-functional project teams.

Governance & Operating Model Uplift: Implement data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and clear accountabilities, including defining roles for Data Owners and Stewards.

Lifecycle & Quality Oversight: Coordinate data lifecycle practices (retention, archival, and disposal) while overseeing data quality controls, monitoring and remediation.

Data Visibility & Control: Drive the implementation of data discovery capabilities to enhance control, classification and visibility of sensitive and critical data assets.





Stakeholder & Change Management: Collaborate with business units (Legal, Risk, Security, Tech) and drive organisational change to embed sustainable governance practices.

Experience:

Project Management Expertise: Project Manager experience delivering complex data, governance, or technology uplift initiatives aligned to regulatory/audit requirements.

Data Governance Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of data governance operating models, lifecycle management, data protection and tooling (e.g. catalogues, lineage, discovery).

Regulatory & Industry Familiarity: Experience working within regulated environments, particularly with exposure to APRA standards, the Privacy Act, or Financial Services frameworks.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate complex concepts across technical/non-technical audiences and manage multidisciplinary teams and third-party vendors.

Autonomous & Outcomes Driven: Demonstrated track record of making transparent recommendations, managing risks and driving delivery outcomes with high autonomy.

Autonomous Execution: A track record of setting priorities and achieving objectives with limited supervision.
