Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Mackay and Marian

Zarb Road Transport is a locally owned and operated family business that has been servicing the Queensland sugar industry for almost 60 years. We operate throughout the Mackay and Burdekin regions and have built our reputation on providing reliable transport services while supporting a strong team of dedicated employees.

We are currently looking for a qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team.

This is a full-time position working between our Marian and Mackay workshops, with approximately six months based at each depot throughout the year.

The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy vehicles and trailers to ensure they remain safe, reliable and ready for operation.

The role includes:

- Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Completing maintenance and repair records
- Occasional truck driving where appropriately licensed





To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

- A trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and trailers
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to safety
- A positive attitude and reliable work ethic
- Forklift licence (desirable)
