The Assurance Officeris acritical role inmaintainingand strengthening the Institute’s assurance environment. You will support the design,implementationand ongoing improvement of the Institute’s assurance frameworks — including, but not limited to,the Policy Framework,Risk and ComplianceFrameworks, Conflicts of Interest Framework, External Complaints FrameworkandPrivacy Framework.Reporting tothe Head of Risk & Assurance and collaborating across all teams, you will help embed a culture of accountability that enables our researchers and professional staff to dogreat workwith confidence.

This role is well-suited to an assurance professional who is passionate about accountability and regulatory best practice, who can communicate assurance requirements in a practical and accessible way, and who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. You will be a self-starter who brings creative problem-solving, strong stakeholderskillsand a commitment to continuous improvement. This role is not about compliance tick boxes – our Assurance culture isn’t about saying‘no’, it’s about asking‘how can we’.

You will be a great fit if you have…

- Relevant tertiary qualification in law, businessor a related discipline,or equivalent professional experience.




- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an assurance or risk management role, ideally within a research,healthor higher education workplace.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience applying Australian regulatory and assurance requirements relevant to medical research institutes or an equivalent field.
- Proven ability to draft, review and implement policies, procedures and frameworks that are both legally sound andpractically workable.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex assurance matters clearly to varied audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft 365 (Word, SharePoint, Teams); experience with risk or assurance management systems.
