Highlands Paint and Panel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Automotive Spray Painter Assistant to join our team in Mittagong, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the automotive refinishing industry. As an assistant, you will work alongside experienced spray painters, learning industry-standard techniques and best practices whilst contributing to the delivery of high-quality paint and panel work for our clients. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive refinishing and offers a clear pathway for career progression within the automotive trades sector.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting experienced spray painters in the preparation and spray application of automotive finishes
- Preparing vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and cleaning to industry standards
- Mixing and preparing paint products according to job requirements
- Applying base coats, clear coats, and other paint finishes under supervision
- Operating spray guns and related equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness of the spray booth and work areas
- Supporting the panel beating team with surface preparation and finishing tasks as required
