LIQUIP SALES QLD PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter - Vehicle Assembly to join our team in Pinkenba, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our vehicle assembly operations. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and maintaining mechanical components with precision and expertise. This role is essential to ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards and are delivered to our customers on schedule. You will work on-site at our Pinkenba facility, where you will contribute to the assembly and fitting of specialised equipment and vehicles.
What you'll be doing
- Assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to engineering specifications and technical drawings
- Pneumatic control system and hydraulic system installation
- Conducting quality inspections and testing of assembled components and finished products
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing corrective actions
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and any issues encountered
- Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure efficient assembly processes
- Following all health, safety, and environmental procedures and guidelines
- Performing maintenance and care of tools and equipment used in the assembly process
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation
What we're looking for
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- Proven experience in vehicle assembly, mechanical assembly, or a related manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, fastening methods, and alignment techniques
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely and effectively
- Ability to work accurately and maintain high quality standards under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Current driver's licence and reliable transportation
- A commitment to health and safety practices
- Preferred: Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems, or specific knowledge of automotive or heavy equipment assembly
