About the Opportunity

Our client, a prominent Australian Government agency dedicated to supporting people with disability, is seeking experiencedAPS6 Support Need Assessorsto join their team. This is a meaningful and impactful role where you will contribute to ensuring participants receive fair, high-quality, and person-centered assessments that inform critical support decisions.

Key Responsibilities

As an APS6 Support Need Assessor, you will:

- Conduct detailed assessments by engaging with participants, their families, and representatives
- Gather, analyse, and interpret complex information to produce accurate, evidence-based reports
- Deliver clear, transparent communication across virtual and face-to-face interactions
- Apply relevant policies, legislation, and ethical frameworks in all assessment activities
- Adopt trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and participant-centered approaches
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive consistency, quality outcomes, and service improvements
- Maintain accurate records and utilise digital systems effectively and securely
- Adapt assessment approaches to meet diverse participant needs
- Contribute to a positive team environment, including mentoring and knowledge sharing

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A recognised tertiary qualification inAllied Health or related disciplines, such as:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Social Work
- Nursing
- Counselling (or similar)





- Demonstrated experience in conductingsupport needs assessments
- Strong commitment toperson-centered, strengths-based practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Well-developed analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Sound knowledge ofdisability legislation, policy, and operational frameworks
- Proven ability to work sensitively with diverse communities usinginclusive and trauma-informed practice
