Dungog Shire Council supports a growing rural community of almost 10,000 residents in the vibrant and picturesque Hunter region of NSW. We are committed to ensuring the ongoing and consistent delivery of local services that are valued by our community and will be for generations to come.

It is anticipated that our population will grow by 1.9% per annum over the next 20 years as per the Hunter Regional Plan, higher than the state growth average. With an additional 2,400 dwellings to be provided over the term of the Hunter Regional Plan, Dungog will be the second fastest growing LGA in the Hunter Region.

Dungog is ideally located just over an hour north of Newcastle and within close proximity to a range of other regional hubs in the Hunter Valley, such as Maitland and Raymond Terrace. We have an enviable lifestyle with easy access to World Heritage listed sites, such as Barrington Tops National Park.

Following a comprehensive service review, Council isimplementing Phase 2 of the Infrastructure & Assets transformation,focused on strengthening middle management, clarifying accountabilities,improving coordination and ensuring our services are sustainable, well-governand future-ready.

As part of this transformation we are seeking a technically skilled and experienced AssetOfficer to administer and assess contributed developer assets, process RoadsAct approvals (including Section 138 applications) and support Council's asset inspectionand compliance functions. The role is also required to undertake GIS and datamanagement tasks to ensure contributed and existing assets are accuratelycaptured into Council's systems and managed in line with Council's standards.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring that assetsdelivered through development are constructed to the required quality,compliant with standards and sustainable for long-term Council ownership andmaintenance.

Reporting to the Coordinator Assets and forming part of the overallInfrastructure & Assets Directorate,



this role is responsible for conductinga wide range of inspections, accurately recording asset information and workingwith the team to ensure integration of field data into Council's GIS systems.

You will also act as a point of contact for developers,contractors and community members regarding asset contributions and approvals.

Essential selection criteria include (full criteria in the Position Description below):

- Degree in engineering,asset management or a related discipline.
- Experiencein assessing contributed developer assets for compliance with Council standards.
- Knowledge of Roads Act approvals (s138) and other relevantlegislation.
- Understandingof asset management principles, inspection practices, and lifecycle planning.
- Experience with GIS mapping and asset system data entry.
- Strongcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with developersand contractors
- Positive organisational skills and the ability to managecompeting priorities.
- Commitmentto compliance, data accuracy, and customer service.

This position is placed at Grade 9 of Council's salary system and is a full-time, permanent position. The salary offered is in the range of $87,484 to $98,407 per annum plus 12% Superannuation.

This role works a 19-day month with 1 rostered day off (RDO) every 4 weeks.
