About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Site Supervisor to take full responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our residential construction projects across New South Wales.
In this role, you will oversee all on-site operations from demolition and site establishment through to practical completion and handover. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will coordinate trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Our core projects involve the design and construction of Class 2 medium-density residential developments, with a strong focus on government housing projects
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for all site activities and daily operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
- Conduct regular site inspections and walkthroughs to monitor productivity, workmanship, and compliance.
- Ensure each construction stage is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programs.
- Plan upcoming works proactively to ensure labour, materials, and equipment are available when required.
- Identify potential delays early and implement corrective actions to maintain project milestones.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout all stages of construction.
- Complete inspections, checklists, and hold point sign-offs.
- Prepare and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and defect rectification processes.
- Work closely with the WHS team to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily pre-start meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, Australian Standards, and workplace safety legislation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily site diaries, progress reports, permits, safety documentation, and quality assurance records.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on progress, issues, and risks.
- Coordinate ordering and delivery of materials.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
- Identify and resolve site issues quickly and effectively.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Supervisor delivering medium-density residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of Class 2 residential construction.
- Trade background in carpentry or a builder’s background highly regarded.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain strong site control.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Sound understanding of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and WHS requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
