We are seeking a hands‑on and reliable Maintenance Team Leader to join our Engineering team. If you take pride in your work, enjoy problem‑solving, and are looking for a stable role in a well‑established hotel, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive and professional team.

About the Role

As our Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hotel is maintained to the highest standard. From guest rooms, and public areas to plant and equipment, your work will directly impact to guest satisfaction, operational efficiency and overall safety of the property.

You’ll work closely with the Chief Engineer and wider team to respond to maintenance requests, complete preventative maintenance, and support the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the hotel.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Carry out general maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas.
- Complete daily plant rounds and identify any faults or required repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
- Maintain and repair equipment, fixtures, and fittings in line with hotel standards.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and organisational policies and procedures.




- Accurately record maintenance tasks and follow up on outstanding items.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to support hotel operations.

What We’re Looking For

- Strong, practical skillset.
- Proven experience in carpentry and building maintenance, with the ability to carry out repairs and modifications to a high standard.
- Strong capability in gyprock work including patching, repairs, floating, setting and finishing with attention to detail and presentation.
- A high work ethic and proactive approach taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.
- The ability to identify issues early and apply practical cost‑effective solutions.
- Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and safe manual handling.
- Reliability, accountability and pride in maintaining a quality finished product.
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Hotel or similar commercial maintenance experience (highly regarded but not essential).
