At Friendly Grocer Caboolture, we're proud to be a locally owned grocery store with a busy fresh food kitchen. We serve many regular customers from our local community every day, offering freshly prepared food, groceries, tobacco and Instant Scratch-Its. We're passionate about delivering friendly service and creating a welcoming one-stop shopping experience that keeps our customers coming back.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work alongside the team every day—preparing fresh food, serving customers, leading and supporting staff, assisting with ordering and stock control, and helping ensure the store runs smoothly every day.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare a range of fresh food, including burgers, sandwiches, hot meals and fried food.

Provide responsible service when selling tobacco and Instant Scratch-Its, ensuring compliance with company policies and all relevant legal requirements.

Lead, support and supervise team members during each shift.

Assist with ordering, stock control, merchandising and inventory management.

Support the training and development of new team members.

Open the store and ensure it's ready for daily trade. Regular weekday shifts typically start from 4:00am, so early morning availability is essential.

Maintain high standards of food safety,



cleanliness and store presentation.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining attention to detail.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience preparing fresh food in a commercial kitchen or food service environment (essential).

Has previous leadership or supervisory experience in retail, hospitality or food service.

Enjoys leading by example and working alongside the team.

Is well organised, reliable and able to work independently.

Can confidently work independently and make decisions when required.

Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

Takes ownership, solves problems and consistently maintains high standards.

Is looking for a long-term opportunity and wants to grow with our business.

Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia. This is a long-term career opportunity. Unfortunately, this position is not suitable for Working Holiday Visa holders.

What We Offer

Casual position starting at approximately 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase to 30-38 hours per week for the right person.

Primarily weekday shifts, with weekends generally not required.

Competitive casual hourly rate of $38-42 + Super, depending on experience.
