Omega Industries Pty Ltd is a well-established Australian manufacturer of industrial, protective, road marking and decorative coatings. We are expanding our manufacturing operations and are looking for an experienced Batch Maker who can consistently produce high-quality products in a fast-paced production environment.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role suited to someone who enjoys achieving production targets while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
About the Role
Working within our production team, you will be responsible for manufacturing paint and coating products safely, accurately and efficiently. You will be expected to maximise production output while ensuring every batch meets our strict quality specifications.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture multiple paint batches each day in accordance with approved formulations.
- Accurately weigh and add raw materials using production batch cards.
- Operate high-speed dispersers, mixers, mills, pumps and filling equipment.
- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining product quality.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Laboratory to minimise batch adjustments and maximise first-pass approvals.
- Identify production issues and resolve them quickly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records using the company's manufacturing system.
- Coordinate with Stores to ensure raw materials are available before commencing production.
- Minimise material wastage and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist with changeovers, equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards using 5S principles.
- Follow all Quality, Environmental and WHS procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Batch Maker in the paint, coatings, chemicals, adhesives, inks or related manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of production processes and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ability to manufacture multiple batches with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work under production deadlines.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.
- Forklift Licence (preferred).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
