Task & Responsibilities
- Inspect surfaces to determine the appropriate treatment, including cleaning, sanding, and abrasive blasting as necessary.
- Prepare surfaces by removing old coatings, rust, and contaminants to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Apply protective and decorative finishes using powder‑coating techniques and traditional painting tools where required.
- Select and mix coating powders to achieve desired colours and finishes, following job specifications.
- Manually operate spray guns and curing ovens according to exact application procedures.
- Perform touch‑ups and repairs to ensure smooth,
consistent finishes.
- Match colours and textures to project specifications or client requirements.
- Maintain and clean painting and coating equipment.
- Follow safety and environmental regulations for handling and disposal of coating materials.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure high‑quality finishes and adherence to project specifications.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating application methods.
- Experience with powder‑coating processes highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, colour specifications, and safety data sheets.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) practices.
Work Conditions
Indoor workshop environment with specialized spray booths and curing ovens. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Work Type: Full time. Salary: $80000-100000. Job Publish: 31-07-2026. Job Expire: 30-08-2026.
