The Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct brings together leading institutions in a genuine partnership dedicated to leveraging its combined strengths in health, education and translational research to shape the future of lifelong health.

With its partners - UNSW Sydney, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network - the Precinct unites researchers, clinicians and industry to tackle complex health challenges, translate innovation into practice, and deliver better care and improved health outcomes.

The Communications & Engagement Officer supports the Precinct’s ambition in creating, sustaining and leading efforts to promote the Precinct as a national global benchmark and place to collaborate. The roleisone of several Precinct funded positions who work closely in a small team.

The Communications & Engagement Officer role will develop and implement a communications and engagement plan to increase the profile and brand awareness of the Precinct across a range of channels and activities.

It will report to the Executive Director and work in close partnership withteam members, communication leads at Precinct Partners, industry associations and government agencies to foster the RHIP brand and profile.

Full-time Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2028

KEY DELIVERABLES

- Lead communications and engagement function to support strategic priorities and raise RHIP’s profile.
- Develop and implement the communications plan in partnership with the Executive Director and team members.
- Engage with leads from Partner communication teams to coordinate events and promote activities.
- Develop and coordinate content across digital communications channels, including RHIP’s website, LinkedIn, social media and other channels.
- Build productive relationships, foster collaboration and support engagement across the Precinct and stakeholders.
- Coordinate tours of visiting groups and manage key events,



including RHIP’s annual innovation conference.
- Support RHIP team leads contributing to key documents and reports, including strategy and promotional material.
- Assist organising and promoting activities for the Heart of Randwick Community Improvement District seed funding program.

KEY ACCOUNTABIILTIES

- Deliver a highly customer-focused service and demonstrate commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participate fully within the RHIP team, contributing to creating a respected and valued resource.
- Act as a key representative of RHIP for internal/external meetings, site tours and functions.

The responsibilities outlined above are not intended to limit the scope of the position. As RHIP evolves, responsibilities may be amended or expanded by the Executive Director to reflect project priorities, funding requirements and organisational needs.

- Strengthening and focusing Precinct participation by partners/collaborators and playing an essential role in the creation of recent linkages.
- Ensuring continued alignment and strong partnerships amongst Precinct partners.
- Balancing range of competing priorities and working in a complex environment.
- Ensuring genuine engagement with local communities, consumers and government.
- Establishing a strong recognisable brand on a national and global level.

SELECTION CRITERIA

- Relevant tertiary qualification equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of media and communications training.
- 5or more years' experience in a comparable stakeholder environment
- Expertise in content production and curation across most digital mediums including video, website, apps and social media.
- Knowledge of best practice digital content including use of CMS, analytics and SEO.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of target audiences, with an effective writing style and ability to deliver high-impact messaging to key audiences.
- Proven success using initiative to develop, drive and share content ideas.
- Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite or InDesign and any other combination of applications.
- Understanding and growing use of AI tools and their possibility for communication and engagement.
- Experience working and nurturing stakeholder management and relationships development.
- Experience in the health/medical research and innovation sector is preferable.
