Grounds & Maintenance Assistant (Casual)

As a part of this, the Groundsinclude the original buildings from 1863 which arelistedbytheNational Trust, in addition to acomplexofmodern facilities. Our external sporting complexat Brassall hosts Cricket, Football, Rugby, Cross Country and other outdoor Activities.

We are seeking the expertise of motivated and energetic casual Grounds & Maintenance Assistants to join our Facilities and Grounds team to support the team during projects during term and school vacation periods. This role would suit someone with some experience or interest in grounds or maintenance and hours can be flexible around study or other commitments.

The Grounds & Maintenance Assistant role is responsible for:

Contribute to maintaining a high level of presentation of our Facilities and Grounds at all times, including buildings, gardens and lawns

General grounds duties, including mowing, pruning, hedging, weeding, fertilising, sprinkler systems and propagating

General maintenance, upgrades and/or repair tasks of School facilities as requested, which may include paving, concreting, bricklaying,



carpentry and/ or painting

Maintain all roads, pathways and grates to ensure that they are clean and free from rubbish, weeds and other debris

Pressure washing of external walkways, surfaces of buildings and awnings

General use and basic preventative maintenance of machinery including tractors, mowers, whipper snippers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, etc

Preparation and maintenance of School sports fields i.e. rugby, athletics, cricket and cross country. This may involve mowing, fertilising, line marking, wicket maintenance, set up and dismantling of any sports equipment required for home games

Assist with venue set up for any school events/occasions including moving and setting up furniture and equipment; and

Any other duties as requested by the Facilities Manager.

The successful candidate may possess:

A professional and friendly approach

Some relevant industry experience or interest within the industry

Landscaping knowledge or general maintenance/ trade experience would be advantageous but is not required; and

exceptional attention to detail.
