Cessnock City Council

Lincoln Place is an Australian-owned company dedicated to developing, operating, and managing vibrant Lifestyle Estates for the over 50s. Our resort-style communities are designed for people seeking to elevate their lifestyle through smart, comfortable downsizing. We are proud to be one of Australia’s top 10 operators in the land lease community sector, with strong growth plans and a clear vision for the future.

About the Opportunity

We're seeking a hands-on, proactive Facility & Grounds Manager to join our team in the Hunter Valley and play a key role in maintaining the presentation, functionality, and safety of our lifestyle community.

This is not solely a supervisory position — we're looking for someone who enjoys being out on the tools, leading by example and taking pride in creating beautifully maintained grounds and facilities. You'll be actively involved in groundskeeping, gardening, maintenance and improvement works, while coordinating contractors, managing equipment, and supporting the broader community operations team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about delivering an exceptional living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain the presentation, safety and functionality of community grounds, gardens and facilities to a consistently high standard.
- Perform hands-on groundskeeping and maintenance activities including mowing, gardening, irrigation, landscaping and general repairs.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and oversee the upkeep of community facilities, amenities and outdoor areas.

- Manage tools, equipment, vehicles, contractors and suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Promote and maintain a robust safety culture, ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Support community events and contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for residents.

What You Bring

- Experience in facilities, grounds, landscaping, property maintenance, parks and gardens, retirement living, hospitality, tourism, or similar environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience including staff supervision, rostering, training and performance management.
- Strong practical skills with proven experience in gardening, landscaping and maintenance activities.
- A willingness to work in a physically active, hands-on outdoor role.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Chemical handling experience.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Current "C" Class Driver's Licence, including the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding community environments.

Why Join Lincoln Place?

- Work within a growing and respected lifestyle communities business.
- Be part of a supportive and collaborative team.
- Enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same.
- Take pride in maintaining beautiful community environments that residents love to call home.
- Make a genuine difference to the lifestyle and wellbeing of our residents every day.
