Gladstone Refrigeration & Air-conditioning is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our growing team in Gladstone, Queensland. This is a full time position based in Gladstone QLD 4680, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical systems on a local industrial site. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of complex electrical maintenance and installations, directly contributing to the success of our clients and the reputation of our company.

Key responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning units

Diagnose electrical faults and troubleshoot complex issues to minimise downtime for clients

Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems in accordance with safety standards

Conduct electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes

Collaborate with refrigeration technicians and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project completion

Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications

Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with electrical codes and workplace health and safety regulations

Maintain detailed records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on projects

Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely solutions to electrical problems

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying potential safety and efficiency enhancements

What we're looking for

Current electrical licence or equivalent qualification recognised in Queensland





Proven experience working as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in refrigeration, air-conditioning, or related industrial sectors

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuit protection, and industrial control systems

Competency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools

Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards, codes, and workplace health and safety regulations

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Reliability and a strong commitment to punctuality and professional conduct

Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and perform manual handling tasks

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites as required

Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems would be advantageous
