We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - SIL QLD to join Soteria in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane QLD, offering the opportunity to lead and oversee Supported Independent Living (SIL) operations across Queensland. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic management, coordination, and optimisation of our SIL services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements whilst maintaining the highest standards of care and support. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence and enabling our service users to achieve their goals and live fulfilling, independent lives.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple SIL properties and services across Queensland, ensuring efficient resource allocation and service delivery
- Manage and supervise support workers and team leads, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high-quality care delivery
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practice standards that align with regulatory requirements and organisational objectives
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and expenditure across SIL operations, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising service quality
- Ensure compliance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) standards, disability services legislation, and all relevant regulatory frameworks
- Coordinate rostering, staffing levels, and workforce planning to meet service demands and maintain appropriate support ratios
- Manage health, safety, and wellbeing protocols,



conducting risk assessments and implementing strategies to create safe environments for both service users and staff
- Build and maintain strong relationships with service users, families, carers, and external stakeholders including government agencies and community partners
- Collect and analyse operational data and performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management and making recommendations for continuous improvement
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives to build a capable, motivated, and compassionate support workforce

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in operations management within the disability support, aged care, or community services sector
- Demonstrated expertise in managing Supported Independent Living services or similar residential support models
- Strong knowledge of NDIS funding, compliance requirements, and the Disability Services Act and relevant Queensland legislation
- Experience managing multi-site operations and coordinating services across geographically dispersed locations
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop support teams
- Sound financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting




- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail and the capacity to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels
- A current or willingness to obtain a valid Working with Children and Vulnerable People checks where applicable
- Tertiary qualification in business management, operations, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Experience with relevant operational management software and data systems is desirable
