Veterinary Nurse (Fixed Term 3-6 months/FT hours)
Veterinary Nurse/Veterinary Technician Wanted - Orthopaedic Surgical Referral Service
Location: Central Coast, NSW
Employment Type: Full Time Hours for Fixed Term of 3-6 months or Casual also considered, with potential ongoing employment.
Remuneration: Base hourly rate range: $24 - $32 commensurate with experience.
Clinic: Coast OrthoVet - based in Terrigal, NSW.

About Us:
Coast OrthoVet is an orthopaedic surgical referral service based on the Central Coast of NSW since 2018. We provide a comprehensive, dedicated orthopaedic service for companion animals, working closely with referring colleagues and pet owners.
We practice a high standard of care with treatment that is most appropriate for each patient, based on current evidence. Our team works in a collaborative, supportive environment where professional development and patient care and wellbeing are top priorities.
We service hospitals on the Mid-North Coast, Hunter/New England and Central Coast of NSW, from within our dedicated orthopaedic theatre and on a visiting basis.
The Role:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Veterinary Nurse and/or Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role includes:
- Assisting with orthopaedic procedures including TPLO for cruciate disease, patella luxation correction, fracture repair, ligament repair, joint fusion and Total Hip Replacement.
- Assisting with the anaesthetic monitoring of patients.
- Assisting with the post-operative care of patients.
- Communicating with professional colleagues (referring vets, nurses, support staff) and patient owners to provide continuity of care.
- Theatre duties including maintenance of surgical instruments and associated equipment, surgical consumable stock, and theatre cleanliness and sterility.
- The role will be based in Terrigal, NSW with the chance to participate in travel and provision of visiting services.

- Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse or Veterinary Technician is beneficial.
