Queensland Hotels Association – Brisbane QLD

Employment Relations Advisor (Full-time, Fixed-term – Maternity Leave Cover)

Ready to be part of Queensland's "FUN" industry?

Queensland's hospitality industry is built on great service, high standards and even better people. If you're passionate about workplace relations and want to support hospitality employers across the state, we'd love to hear from you.

QHA is seeking a full-time Employment Relations Advisor to join our Employment Relations team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover contract.

Help Queensland hospitality employers get staffing right. As QHA's Employment Relations Advisor, you'll be the first point of contact for members, delivering clear, practical advice across Awards, legislation, and day-to-day workplace issues—while building strong relationships across the industry.

About QHA

The Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) is the peak industry body representing the hospitality and tourism industry across Queensland.

We work to secure the best future for our members by connecting them with their communities, representing them to government, and supporting their businesses to thrive—whether they're a local country pub, an accommodation hotel in a tourist hot spot, or a venue delivering food, entertainment and great times across the state.

Based in the Brisbane CBD (a short walk from Central Station), QHA is a registered industrial organisation of employers at both State and Federal levels, and a Registered Training Organisation.

About the role

Employment Relations Advisors are the first point of contact for member employment relations queries. You'll work with hospitality employers to achieve positive staffing outcomes by providing practical, timely advice across a broad range of employment matters.

No two days, and indeed no two inquiries are the same – you are learning every day from your colleagues, industry partners and hospitality legends!

Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in employment relations or human resources to be considered for this position.

To succeed, you will demonstrate:

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
