Boilermakers & Mechanical Fitter – Night or Day Shift Rosters
An established and reputable engineering firm is seeking experienced and motivated Boilermakers Mechanical Fitters to join our team for a two-week night shift shutdown at a meat processing facility located 1hr from Brisbane, commencing 3 August.
This is a outstanding opportunity to secure consistent shutdown work with the potential for ongoing maintenance opportunities.
About the Role
Working alongside the site maintenance team, you'll be involved in a variety of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities, including:
- Hydraulic cylinder skid plate replacements
- Bearing replacements on rendering equipment
- Gearbox removal and replacement (including oxy cutting where required)
- Conveyor repairs and maintenance
- Minor fabrication and mechanical repairs
- General plant maintenance and breakdown support
- QA inspections and completion of maintenance documentation
- Yard rectification works to support plant operations and animal welfare requirements
The work will involve a combination of planned maintenance and reactive repairs in a fast-paced processing environment.
To be successful you will have:
- Australian Trade Certificate
- Previous shutdown or heavy industrial maintenance experience
- Experience working on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings and rotating equipment
- Ability to carry out minor fabrication and repair work
- Experience with oxy cutting and mechanical modifications
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work well within a maintenance team
