IA Accounting is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Officer to join our team. The successful candidate must have a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail and proven experience managing accounts receivable, billing and customer payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing accounts receivable and monitoring outstanding accounts
- Review and finalise time tracking, prepare and issue accurate invoices and account statements
- Following up overdue invoices and collecting outstanding payments
- Establishing and managing customer payment plans
- Allocating and reconciling incoming payments
- Completing bank and account reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and client account information
- Assisting with billing enquiries and resolving account discrepancies
- Understanding and working with different business structures, including companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
- Assisting the accounting team with general bookkeeping and financial administration
- Preparing reports on outstanding debts, payments and account activity
- Ensuring all financial information is handled accurately and confidentially
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance-related position is essential
- Robust accounts receivable and debt collection experience
- Solid understanding of accounting processes and financial record-keeping
- Knowledge of Australian business structures
- Experience with invoicing, billing, reconciliations and payment plans
- Strong computer skills and experience using accounting software such as Xero
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicating with clients regarding outstanding accounts
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional, reliable and able to work independently
