About the Role:
The Expiations Support Officer (ESO) is responsible for receiving, documenting, and processing expiations that are reported through our Investigations and Compliance System (ICS) The Expiations Support Officer will have the responsibility of reviewing evidence and ensuring that all elements of the offence are covered. This position will work closely with the Team Leader who will oversee this process. This position will also correspond with SAPOL Expiation Notice Branch (ENB) and ensure that our Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage is monitored and user requirements are fulfilled.

The role is responsible for the delivery of a range of high-quality administrator and business services including producing accurate expiation and investigation statistics, ensuring our Authorised Officer Register (AOR) is up to date which assists in the effective and efficient operations of the Investigations and Compliance Unit (ICU).

Key Role Outcomes:

- The administration of DEW expiations is processed effectively through our ICS and transferred through to ENB.

- Effective and efficient support services are delivered to staff in relation to the expiation process, including BWC user requirements.

- Accurate record management with the Authorised Officer repository and BWC database.

- Systems practice and procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure responsive, high quality and efficient support is provided to ICU and partner agencies.

Contract:
Contract for up to 12 Months

Essential Criteria (including qualifications):





- Experience with or demonstrated ability using Microsoft 365 software applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power BI, SharePoint and OneDrive.

- Experience in or demonstrated understanding of customer service principles.

- Displays an ability to communicate effectively both in a written and verbal context.

- Demonstrates a positive understanding of the principles of providing a professional administrative support service.

- Demonstrated ability to work vigilantly when assessing documents.

- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to drive.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience assessing compliance documentation across multiple acts of legislation.
Knowledge and experience working with the Expiation of Offence Act 1996

Special Conditions:

- Will be required to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

- May be required to participate in training to allow for appointment pursuant to Section 20 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972.

- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia.

- Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory.

- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.

- This role requires candidates to provide a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which must be renewed every three years before expiry. DEW will cover the cost of renewal.

- A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an original photo identification document sighted and provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued within the last 12 months. This information must be supplied by all applicants who are shortlisted for interview.

Remuneration:
ASO3 $74,095 min - $78,694 max p.a.
