CRANAplus is a grass­roots, not-for-prof­it, mem­ber­­ship-based organ­i­sa­tion that was found­ed in 1983. CRANAplus exists to ensure the delivery of protected, high-quality primary healthcare to remote and isolated areas of Australia.

Recognising the unique demands placed on the remote and isolated health workforce, CRANAplus have developed a suite of services for nurses, midwives, other health professionals and their families including:

- the provision of free 24/7 confidential telephone support
- the delivery of face to face, online and webinar courses tailored to rural and remote health practice.
- wellbeing workshops, guides and newsletters
- scholarships for undergraduate and post graduate students
- grants for professional development opportunities advocacy through our links with government.

Purpose of the Position

Responsible for leading and delivering high-quality professional development opportunities for health professionals, predominantly nurses and midwives, across Australia in rural or remote communities.

Education opportunities include on the ground delivery, e-learning and a range of multi-modal resources created by CRANAplus for our members and wider community.

This role requires frequent travel for delivery of courses within your home state and interstate.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, coordinate and deliver education courses specifically designed for health professionals working in remote, isolated or rural settings.
- Liaise with our Learning Design Team to produce materials and courses via our e-learning platforms.
- Stay abreast of clinical updates,



current policies and other developments that directly or indirectly impact on the teachings of education courses
- Be a recognised expert in the provision of remote health education for health professionals.
- Lead and contribute to the development of contemporary education resources.
- Oversight & coordination of courses, in collaboration with the CRANAplus Education team.
- Ensure course materials and resources are context relevant and clinically current
- Collaborate with our Equipment and Logistics team to ensure advancement of technology / education equipment.
- Deliver courses within your scope of practice, to achieve the required outcomes of our nationally recognised programs
- Prepare course reports.
- Liaise with other educators to ensure common themes are carried through all courses and online content.
- Support volunteer facilitator ongoing engagement.
- Achieve the professional requirements of the position including maintaining competency and currency in your professional discipline and maintain currency of knowledge of isolated practice issues.
- Promote membership and advocate the CRANAplus brand to build upon industry and community awareness of the work that CRANAplus undertakes.

- This position holder may be directed to carry out additional duties that are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence, and training to assist CRANAplus in meeting its overall objectives.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications/Registrations

Essential

- Registered Nurse (+/-) Registered Midwife, with relevant post graduate qualifications favourable.

Experience

Essential

- Experience as a remote health professional and/or demonstrated high level of understanding of remote health issues.
- Experience in adult education delivery and/or certificate IV in training and assessment.

Knowledge/Skills

Essential

- Ability to write academically inclusive of an understanding and use of referencing systems.
- A high level of commitment to confidently, sensitivity, professional boundaries and ethics, and a commitment to a fair and inclusive workplace environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively build and maintain professional relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrates initiative, is self-driven and organised, and can manage multiple and/or competing deadlines to achieve required outcomes.

Other:

- Demonstrated knowledge and application of culturally safe practices, and the ability to work respectfully, effectively, and collaboratively with culturally diverse communities.
- Experience working across a range of technology solutions and programs and is adaptable to learning new systems and can apply innovation.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from an historical and contemporary perspective, including demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Ability to travel across Australia as required and agreed, inclusive of weekend work to support program delivery.
