About Us Hinkler Park Management (HPM) is a leading macadamia farming contractor working with one of the world's largest macadamia growers. We operate across multiple farms in Queensland.
What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced and independent Payroll Manager and HR Administrator to join our Bundaberg office. You will be a subject matter expert in end-to-end payroll processing.
While this role involves some general administration, our core HR systems and processes are already firmly in place, meaning your primary focus will be delivering accurate, timely payroll for our workforce of managers, supervisors and farm hands.
Key Duties
Payroll Management
Provide expert, end-to-end processing of weekly payroll (including salary packaging, leave management, and superannuation)
Manage timesheets, deductions, and allowances for a diverse workforce of 110+ employees.
Interpret and apply relevant modern awards and National Employment Standards (NES) to ensure strict compliance.
Prepare and lodge superannuation, child support, PAYG, and weekly STP.
Oversee casual workforce conversion requirements and remuneration reviews.
Balance monthly wages between payroll and accounting software (MYOB) and prepare end-of-month reporting.
General Administration
Provide light administrative support for the employee lifecycle,
including onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining compliant employee records.
Draft standard employee letters and contracts using existing templates.
Maintain and update internal policies relating to payroll and workers compensation.
Administer Workcover and return to work.
What You Will Bring
Experience: 5+ years in a similar role, with at least 3 years fully responsible for processing a payroll
Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of payroll legislation.
Systems: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MYOB.
Traits: High level of integrity, confidentiality, and excellent numeracy skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees across all levels of the business.
Qualifications: A Certificate or Diploma in a related business or administration discipline is highly regarded, though proven practical experience is key.
